Emotional Support Service
This runs alongside our existing counselling service and is available during our drop in sessions on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday – 1-5pm. It is not ongoing counselling but a chance for young people to be listened to by our trained and experienced support workers. Although available to any young person, it is particularly suitable for:
- People who may be on our counselling waiting list needing emotional support in the interim.
- People in crisis who may need to speak to somebody there and then.
- People who find the “formality” of counselling difficult. Some young people are very nervous about what counselling entails. We feel this could be a supported introduction to our counselling service.
- People who are suffering from panic attacks or have anger management issues and may need to learn techniques to deal with these feelings.
Young people are free to drop in during our opening times or they may prefer to make an appointment via email,telephone,text or facebook.
